Liam Neeson Finally Explains His Dramatic 20 Pound Weight Loss
Liam Neeson is finally explaining why he looked so much skinnier, and as some put it, “gaunt,” while photographed this past summer.
The 63-year-old actor told Collider that the dramatic weight loss was not due to illness, rather he lost the weight for the new Martin Scorsese film Silence.
“Martin wanted us all to look a bit more gaunt, which [my co-stars] did as well. I know Adam went to the extreme. He’s an ex marine and when he’s given an order, he follows it through. He was like something out of Auschwitz. Martin requires this level of [dedication] and I think it pays off,” Liam said. He added that he lost 20 pounds for the role.
Girls‘ Adam Driver and Andrew Garfield also star in the movie.
