Carolina Panthers Quarterback Cam Newton Welcomes Son

Cam Newton just became a father!

The 26-year-old quarterback for the Carolina Panthers took to Twitter to announce that his girlfriend Kia Proctor gave birth to their first child over the holiday weekend in Atlanta, Ga.

“My longtime girlfriend and I were extremely blessed to have a son last week. Our family is excited and thank you all for the well wishes!” Cam wrote.

He added, “I’ve been quiet about this because I didn’t want to create a distraction for my team and appreciate the privacy in this joyous time.”

In case you didn’t know, the Panthers are currently 14-1 and in first place in the NFC South.

Congrats to the happy couple on their new bundle of joy!
