The premiere was held at Marcus Des Peres Cinema, followed by the dedication ceremony at the Lake Saint Louis Community Association.
The movie portrays the true story of Joyce Smith, as captured in her 2017 memoir The Impossible. In 2015, when her son fell through the ice of a Missouri lake, she prayed for him to come back from the brink of death and be healed.
Chrissy joined City of Lake St. Louis Mayor Kathy Schweikert, Pastor Jason Noble, John and Joyce Smith, co-star Marcel Ruiz and director Roxann Dawson at the dedication ceremony.
Topher Grace plays Pastor Noble in the film, while Chrissy plays Joyce. Marcel plays John.
The movie hits theaters on April 17.
