Whitney Port Reveals She Recently Suffered a Miscarriage

Whitney Port is opening up about suffering a miscarriage just two weeks ago.

The 34-year-old The Hills star revealed on Instagram during her Tuesday (July 23) episode of her podcast With Whit that she and husband Tim Rosenman recently lost a pregnancy.

“This is really hard for me to write,” Whitney wrote. “Two weeks ago, I had a miscarriage. The amount of various emotions I felt in the past couple weeks have been extreme…from shock to sadness to relief, which then led to guilt for feeling that relief.”

Whitney and Tim are parents to son Sonny, who will be turning 2-years-old this weekend.

“My identity has been shaken in regards to who as a mom and human being,” Whitney continued. “I’m currently in the process of learning to accept that my feelings are valid no matter what they are. Whether or not people feel the same way as me or not. They are my personal emotions that are the result from my own journey. The video above is a glimpse into the story and coming to terms with how I feel.”

In the episode of her podcast uploaded to her YouTube channel, Whitney revealed that she stopped taking her birth control and got pregnant, and she and Tim told close friends and family the news during the first trimester.

“And then the next day, I woke up and I saw blood on my underpants,” Whitney added, saying she wasn’t “too alarmed” because spotting in pregnancy can be normal and she had it when she was expecting Sonny.

Sadly, the next day the bleeding intensified and the ultrasound confirmed that things “didn’t look good,” before the couple learned there was no heartbeat and it was “not a viable pregnancy.”

Whitney Port concluded her post, writing, “I welcome anyone to share their stories or feelings,” Port continued. “I want my platform to be an open place where we can share difficult conversations.”
