The Oscars 2020 Will Not Have a Host

The 2020 Academy Awards ceremony will be hostless for a second year.

The announcement was made by ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke on Wednesday (January 8) during the TCA winter press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

“Let me confirm it now, together with the Academy, that there will be no traditional host this year,” she said, saying that it worked last year.

“We are extremely happy with how the show went. Odds are you’ll see us repeating what we consider to be a successful formula,” she previously said to THR.

The 2019 ceremony saw a 11.5% increase year-over-year, and a 7.7 rating among all adults 18-49 demographic, up from 13% a year ago.
