Bernie Sanders Goes Viral for His Inauguration Look
Everyone is loving Bernie Sanders‘ 2021 presidential inauguration ceremony look.
The 79-year-old Vermont senator showed up to the Joe Biden inauguration in a casual ensemble on Wednesday (January 20) in Washington, D.C.

As opposed to the many fashionable suits and coats on the stage, Bernie wore a grey puffer jacket and carried a big manila envelope, paired with oversized pattern mittens. According to The Cut, the mittens were made by a teacher in Vermont who knows one of his kids, and are made from repurposed wool sweaters with fleece from recycled plastic bottles.
Pictures of the Senator quickly went viral on social media, with people (lovingly) comparing his comfy casual look to something one would wear to the post office or shoveling the driveway.
“This fit and energy is why I will always have a place in my heart for Bernie Sanders,” one popular tweet reads.
“Shout out to Bernie Sanders showing up to the inauguration as if he’s headed to the UPS store and picking up some coffee in Burlington,” wrote another.
“I wanna be Michelle Obama but I know I’m a Bernie Sanders,” said another user.
