Tiger Woods Thanks Fans for Support While Recovering After Car Crash

Tiger Woods is back on Twitter.

The 45-year-old pro golfer took to his social media on Sunday (February 28) to share a message to his fans as he recovers after his car crash.

“It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts,” Tiger tweeted. “To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time.”

Early last week, Tiger was involved in a single-vehicle accident near the communities of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles. According to officials, Tiger was traveling downhill in his car when it struck a sign in the center divider, cut through a tree and landed in the brush alongside the road with “major damage.”

After being rescued by first responders, Tiger was transported to a local hospital where he underwent surgery on his leg and ankle.

Shortly after the surgery was complete, a spokesperson for Tiger shared an official statement on behalf of the golfer letting fans know that he made it out of surgery just fine and said that he is “currently awake, responsive and recovering in his hospital room.”
