William Shatner Reveals Why He's Going to Space at Age 90

William Shatner is planning to fly to space on Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-18 ship this Wednesday (October 13).

The 90-year-old actor will be joined by Blue Origin’s Vice President of Mission and Flight Operations, Audrey Powers, as well as crew members Chris Boshuizen and Glen de Vries. Even though Blue Origin in Jeff Bezos‘ company, he will not be on this flight.

During an appearance on CBS this morning, William revealed why he decided to make the trip at age 90.

“I wanted to claim that I was the oldest person that went into [space],” William said about his desire to go to space. “I want to see space, I want to see the Earth, I want to see what we need to do to save Earth. I want to have a perspective that hasn’t been shown to me before. That’s what I’m interested in seeing.”
