'X Factor' Contestant Thomas Wells Dead at 46 After a Horrific Accident at Work

Former The X Factor contestant Thomas Wells has died at the age of 46 after a horrific accident occurred at his workplace.

Thomas appeared on the first season of Fox’s American version of The X Factor back in 2011. He made it to the boot camp round, but did not advance to the live shows. Throughout his singing career, Thomas also appeared on reality shows like The Voice, America’s Got Talent, and The Winner Is.

Thomas passed away on November 13 after being involved in a horrific accident while on the job at a tire manufacturing plant in Oklahoma.

TMZ reports that part of Thomas‘ body was caught in an “automatic conveyor belt type of machine” that was unable to stop. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and then airlifted to a bigger hospital in Texas, but he died at the hospital from his injuries.

Thomas‘ wife Jessica shared a video on Facebook from her first time visiting his grave since his death. She wrote, “I will always love you babe!! Your the bestest man in the whole world!! Until we meet again in heaven…you sing with the angels!!”

Thomas posted a video of himself singing “Open Arms” earlier this year and you can watch that video.

RIP.
