According to the New York Post, Meat Loaf was “seriously ill” with COVID-19 just days before his death.

Sources told TMZ that Meat Loaf was expected to attend a business dinner earlier in the week for a show based on his classic “I’d Do Anything for Love,” but canceled due to COVID-19, and his condition became critical.

His vaccination status is not yet known, although he was outspoken against vaccine mandates and shared an anti-lockdown song on social media earlier in the year.

No official cause of death was given in the announcement of his death.
