In a recent interview with the Vancouver Sun, Andrew shared that his Hallmark Channel career actually took flight in 2012, a handful of years after he starred in a movie called Steel Toes – and that’s the movie that got him noticed.
“I did a movie called Steel Toes about this neo-Nazi skinhead. It’s a role I’m proud of — I won a Borsos Award for best performance,” Andrew shared with the paper, before recalling that after that, he “got a call out of the blue saying that Hallmark was offering me this job up in Vancouver, A Bride for Christmas.”
Andrew went on to star with Arielle Kebbel in the movie, and he was curious at just how he came on the network’s radar.
“When I was talking to the director I said, ‘Hey man, how did this come about?’ And he says, ‘We saw Steel Toes.’ And I was like, ‘You offered me a Hallmark role for the skinhead movie I was in?’ And He’s like, ‘Yeah, I felt you had something,’” he remembered.
Ever since then, Andrew has been a staple for the network, and remains one of the most popular actors for the channel.
