Savannah Guthrie headed out from Today early on Tuesday (February 28) before the show was over.

The 51-year-old anchor unexpectedly walked out from the broadcast, leaving fans wondering what happened, especially as fans are also curious about where Hoda Kotb is these days.

Sheinelle Jones revealed the reason why during the show’s 8 a.m. hour.

“By the way, it has been an interesting morning for us,” she said.

“As we said, Savannah left early, she wasn’t feeling great, so she took a COVID test. It came back positive.”

“So, as soon as we found out, she rushed home to rest up. So Savannah, we love you, wishing you a speedy recovery.”

She previously had to take off work back in January of 2022 after testing positive as well.

Today airs weekdays at 7 a.m. ET on NBC.
