Trump Administration Seemingly Includes Journalist in Group Chat Detailing War Plans

The Trump administration allegedly included a journalist in a group chat regarding The United States’ plans to bomb Houthi targets across Yemen on March 15.

The Atlantic‘s editor in chief Jeffery Goldberg published a story on Monday (March 24) detailing how he was allegedly added to a group chat that “contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Iran-backed Houthi-rebels in Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing.”

According to Goldberg, he was added to a text chain on Signal, an open-source encrypted messaging service, on March 11. Top national security officials for President Donald Trump such as Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, National Security Advisor Michael Walz, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, were allegedly included in the text chain.

It is currently unclear if Goldberg was added to the Signal text chain as a mistake, however, The National Security Council said the text chain “appears to be authentic.”

“I know nothing about it. You’re telling me about it for the first time,” Trump recently told reporters when asked about the situation, according to The Associated Press.
