Britney Spears Wants Father Jamie Spears Charged With Conservatorship Abuse

Britney Spears is serious about wanting to charge her father, Jamie Spears, with conservatorship abuse.

Speaking in court on Wednesday (July 14), the 39-year-old singer spoke following the announcement that Mathew S. Rosengart, a prominent Hollywood lawyer and former federal prosecutor, will be representing her in the battle to free her from the conservatorship.

“I’m not representing her alone,” Mr. Rosengart told the court, explaining that he’ll be assisted by “a team of attorneys at my firm” who “all have substantial probate experience.”

Britney then spoke to Judge Brenda Perry, revealing that she wanted to formally charge Jamie with abuse.

“I’m here to get rid of my dad and charge him with conservatorship abuse,” she shared, before adding that she wants him investigated and that “this conservatorship has allowed my dad to ruin my life.”

Britney then told the judge about the abandonment issues that she faces after growing up “extremely scared” of her dad, “worried he was going to show up drunk somewhere.”

She also had a list of things she was barred from doing, including taking vitamins and driving, saying, “That’s not abuse, that’s f****** cruelty.”
