Britney Spears Gets Approval to Hire Her Own Lawyer in Conservatorship Battle

Britney Spears just scored another legal victory in her ongoing legal battle to get out of her conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears.

The 39-year-old Glory pop icon has been approved to hire her own lawyer as of Wednesday (July 14), which was granted during a hearing in Los Angeles, via the New York Times.

The judge also permitted the hiring of Mathew S. Rosengart, a prominent Hollywood lawyer and former federal prosecutor, following news of Britney‘s request of his counsel last week.

Last month, Britney denounced the conservatorship in a testimony that made headlines around the world, calling it “abusive” and detailing many allegations against the conservatorship team, her family and management.
