Speaking to Empire magazine, Daniel shared that he worked with the coach for around four months in order to regain the accent he had on screen.

“I went away to work with an accent coach for three or four months before we started shooting,” Daniel said, adding that he’d “forgotten the accent and I didn’t want to do a pastiche. I wanted to make it as grounded and as anchored in reality as possible.”

In the first movie, Chris Evans‘ Ransom Drysdale describes Benoit’s accent as a “Kentucky-fried Foghorn Leghorn drawl.”

Officially titled Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the upcoming sequel brings Benoit to Greece to peel back the layers of a mystery involving a new cast of colorful suspects.

The cast includes Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Kate Hudson, Leslie Odom Jr., Janelle Monáe, Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Dave Bautista and Ethan Hawke.

The flick will premiere December 23 on Netflix.
