Jon Hamm Accused of Violent Hazing at His Fraternity: Report

Jon Hamm was reportedly involved in a violent college hazing ritual back in 1990, citing details that were revealed in a 1991 lawsuit obtained by the Associated Press.

The 44-year-old Mad Men actor was part of the Sigma Nu frat at the University of Texas-Austin, and the incident reportedly took place in November of 1990.

In the lawsuit, it is alleged that Jon went as far as to try and set a pledge on fire.

The accuser, Mark Allen Sanders, said that Jon became “mad, I mean really mad,” when he couldn’t recite something on command. The man goes on to say Jon hit him and set him on fire. “He rears back and hits me left-handed, and he hit me right over my right kidney, I mean square over it. Good solid hit and that, that stood me right up.” The man then says that he was beaten “with the claw of a hammer beneath his genitals.”

The case was widely reported back in the 90s, where Jon was identified as Jonathan Hamm.

An arrest warrant was issued and Jon was charged with hazing and received probation.
