'Glee' Fans Share Why They Fell in Love with Naya Rivera as Santana on The Show
Fans are sending out positive thoughts after it was reported that Naya Rivera had gone missing during a boating trip.
On Wednesday night (July 8), fans took to Twitter to pray that the 33-year-old Glee actress is found safe and alive after her son Josey, 4, was found alone in a boat on Lake Piru. He told authorities that she went into the water and never came back up.
Glee fans also took the opportunity to share how much Naya‘s portrayal as Santana Lopez on the show helped them learn about acceptance and who they are.
“Dude I’m not even kidding Santana Lopez’s story arc on glee was a huge reason and inspiration coming out, Naya Rivera portrayed that so beautifully and she’s always been an ally to the LGBTQIA community and an inspiration, praying they find her alive and for her baby son,” one fan wrote.
You can also read how some of Naya‘s Glee co-stars and other celebrities reacted to the tragic news.

Been re-watching Glee and just got to Santana’s performance of “Girl on Fire.”
I hope Naya Rivera is safe. Truly safe.— Dash BLM & ACAB (@DashMakesMovies) July 9, 2020
naya rivera and her portrayal of santana on glee is the person who made me realize it’s okay to like girls and helped me feel comfortable in who i am. please find her. she’s a mother and a human. the search should not be suspended

naya rivera portrayed one of the most important characters to me. as a latina lesbian, santana made me feel so validated. i hope she will be found safe and sound, i dont want that son to lose his mother

Praying they find Naya Rivera, Santana was a iconic lgbtq+ character, and Glee made up a lot of my gay formative years

It seems so stupid. But Naya means so much to me, she wasn’t just Santana on glee, she helped through shit even if she never knew. She made me realize it was okay to be myself. I’m praying for her, and her little boy. I’m heartbroken. #nayarivera

please take a break from the internet if this is too much for you to handle, santana played an important role in most of our teenage years and your mental wellbeing is just as important as naya’s safety ❤️

When I was a little baby lesbian, Brittany and Santana were one of the few queer characters that I truly loved. I am really hoping Naya is safe.

no words can describe how much glee and naya’s character santana lopez has impacted my life, but beyond that she is SO MUCH more than that. she is a loving and beautiful mother and daughter. she is a light in this world. she has so much more life left to live. this is so unfair.

Naya Rivera aka Santana Lopez was my favorite glee character ever. her voice, her story, her attitude. I always watch on YouTube all the best song from Santana… i really hope she’s okay somewhere

if naya rivera is d*ad i don’t know how i’m going to act. she’s not the best person in real life but santana was seriously my comfort character for the longest time and helped me come to terms with the fact that i like girls. this is kinda hurting.
