JoJo Siwa Stands By Calling Out Candace Cameron Bure Over 'Traditional Marriage' Comments; Says They'll Probably Never Speak Again

JoJo Siwa is opening up about speaking out over Candace Cameron Bure‘s traditional marriage comments regarding what will be shown on Great American Family.

If you missed the drama, Candace, who serves as the network’s Chief Creative Officer as well as an actress in some of the movies, shared how many of the programming there will focus on “traditional marriage” between a male and female.

JoJo, 19, was one of the first celebrities to speak out over Candace‘s stance, and in a new interview is sticking by her words.

“As I’m getting older, I’m starting to realize what an impact I really do get to have,” JoJo shared with People. “[I'm] learning that I have a chance to use my voice, use my platform for something good and to change the world for the better.”

She added, “I think that’s a really cool position to be in. I am being honest and maybe being a little disruptive to somebody’s life, but it’s what I believe in. And so to have good people stand behind you with it felt really nice.”

As for her comments back to Candace, JoJo says that she has “not [talked], and I don’t think we ever will again.”

“That’s what’s f***ed up,” she added. “You not liking gay marriage, do your thing girl. You being religious, do your thing girl. Of course, I would want everybody to do what they want to do. But to purposely exclude someone because of who they love, that’s sh***y.”

Just a few months earlier, JoJo actually called out Candace for being the rudest celebrity she’s ever encountered.
