Tony Hawk Reveals Why He Is Still Walking With a Cane

Tony Hawk is getting candid about his physical health.

The 54-year-old legendary skateboarder opened up about the reason why he is still walking with a cane after an injury on Friday (December 16).

If you didn’t know, Tony broke his femur while on his skateboard on March 7.

Months later, fans have been worried to see that he is still using a cane, and wondering if it’s permanent.

“To those seeing pics of me using a cane and assuming it is a permanent situation: I had my femur surgically realigned 2 weeks ago in order to get back to what I love doing at a high level,” he wrote on Twitter over the weekend.

“And I’m taking it slow this time around. See you on the other side.”

A few weeks before, Tony was seen skating alongside floats at Detroit’s Thanksgiving parade.

“To the hundreds (thousands?) of people that yelled ‘do a kickflip’ today: my apologies; it was hard enough skating through the whole parade on my misaligned femur. Surgery is scheduled for next week to put it back in place 🤞🏽,” he wrote at the time.

“Round 2,” he shared on Instagram along with a photo of his X-ray.

We are wishing the best to Tony Hawk in his continued recovery.
