Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2023 Inductees Include Willie Nelson & Missy Elliot

The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced this year’s inductees for 2023.

Among them are Willie Nelson, Missy Elliot, Kate Bush, Sheryl Crow, Rage Against the Machine, The Spinners, and the late George Michael.

“We are honored that this November’s Induction Ceremony in New York will coincide with two milestones in music culture; the 90th birthday of Willie Nelson and the 50th Anniversary of the birth of Hip Hop,” John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation said in a press release.

Keep reading to find out more…There were a total of 14 nominees including: Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden, The White Stripes, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, A Tribe Called Quest, and Warren Zevon.

“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates,” Sykes said before voting began. “These artists have created their own sounds that have impacted generations and influenced countless others that have followed in their footsteps.”

In order to be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior. An international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry selected from the nominees.

The ceremony for the inductees will take place on Friday, November 3 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Musical Influence Award will go to: DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray.

Chaka Khan, Al Kooper, and Bernie Taupin will receive the Musical Excellence Award.

The Ahmet Ertegun Award will go to Don Cornelius.
