Meghan McCain & Joy Behar Get in a Heated Battle on 'The View' Over Matt Gaetz Allegations

Joy Behar and Meghan McCain are butting heads again.

The View co-hosts battled in out while discussing Rep. Matt Gaetz, who is reportedly under federal investigation for allegations of sex trafficking.

During the discussion, Whoopi Goldberg asked Meghan why she felt the Republican Party was staying by the representative’s side amid allegations.

“Well, because the only sin that you commit in the Republican party these days is if you say that Biden won the election — everything else is fine,” Joy sarcastically said.

“Well, first of all, I have family members and good friends who all work on Capitol Hill in Republican politics and trust me: the Republican Party and people on Capitol Hill are embarrassed by this. So, I think I have a lot better sourcing on that than you do, Joy, no offense,” Meghan said.

“It’s super disgusting. He should go to jail. It’s super embarrassing…he’s a deeply unserious person. He should be removed from his committees. There’s some people on the left that I think should be removed from their committees for some of the things that they’ve said about Israel and some of the things that they’ve said — like, I get it, if we want to talk about removing committees, we can do this all day long. But, Matt Gaetz is a pervert who should go to jail. Okay. The end.”

Later on, Joy asked: “My question is: if it’s not the Republican Party, shall I call it the QAnon party? What shall I call your party now, who defends people like Matt Gaetz and goes against Liz Cheney? What are we supposed to call it? Explain this to me.”

“I think you can call it whatever you want because your influence in the Republican Party is almost zero and again, as I have said on this show, it is for us to figure out amongst ourselves,” Meghan hit back.

“What Republican is like, ‘Hmm, Joy Behar doesn’t like my party, I better stop voting for them now’?”

“You said people on Capitol Hill are supporting him. I’m telling you, from people that I know personally, they are embarrassed. This is embarrassing for the Republican Party,” Meghan went on to say.

Meghan McCain issued an apology recently regarding aiding in racist rhetoric.

Meghan McCain Apologizes for Aiding Donald Trump's Anti-Asian “Racist Rhetoric”

Meghan McCain is apologizing for her past comments about COVID-19.

The View co-host released a statement to her Twitter after being called out by John Oliver on his show, Last Week Tonight.

John noted that despite sharing a graphic that said “Stop Asian Hate” in response to the tragic shooting in Atlanta that left eight dead, Meghan had previously said she had “no problem” with Donald Trump referring to COVID-19 as the “China virus.”

“I think if the left wants to focus on P.C. labelling this virus, it is a great way to get Trump re-elected,” she said in the clip. “I don’t have a problem with people calling it whatever they want. It’s a deadly virus that did originate in Wuhan… I don’t have a problem with it.”

“Oh good! Meghan McCain doesn’t have a problem with it,” John said in the new episode. “Listen not to the scores of Asian Americans telling everyone that the term is dangerous and offensive. Instead, gather around and take the word of a wealthy white woman who’s dressed like she’s about to lay off 47 people over Zoom.”

Meghan McCain posted this week, ‘Stop Asian Hate,’ with three broken hearts emoji, which is a fine sentiment to throw up on Twitter after the fact. But there has to be an understanding that saying, ‘I don’t have a problem with calling it the China virus’ is very much giving space for hate to grow,” he continued.

Meghan wrote on Twitter, “I condemn the reprehensible violence and vitriol that has been targeted towards the Asian-American community. There is no doubt Donald Trump’s racist rhetoric fueled many of these attacks and I apologize for any past comments that aided that agenda.”

Meghan also recently faced backlash over disparaging comments she made about Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Meghan McCain Says Kamala Harris Contributed to Vaccine Hesitancy

Meghan McCain is accusing Kamala Harris of casting doubt on vaccines.

The View co-host opened up on Tuesday’s episode (March 16) by implying that the Vice President contributed to reluctance to get the coronavirus vaccine, showing a clip of her from back in 2020 when she said she wouldn’t trust the vaccine if it had been created under President Donald Trump.

“She’s expressing skepticism about the vaccine under the Trump administration. A lot of Republicans I know are expressing skepticism about the vaccine under the Biden administration. Which is why this has been so dangerous that this has become so politicized. Both sides are equally responsible for this. But the media really lauded her at the time when she said that she didn’t get nearly enough pushback,” she said.

“Republicans are contrarian by nature, we are built from my very fabric up to question authority and question big government. And when big government is saying you have to do X, Y and Z, we’re going to question it. I’m going to question it.”

That said, Meghan said she trusted doctors and would get the vaccine on-air if possible – although she did have lingering doubts about Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“I know I’m going to get eviscerated for saying this. But I don’t 100% trust him, I don’t think that he is an unbiased actor in any of this and he is a government official — I’m one of those people who feel that way about him.”

Whoopi Goldberg's Reaction to Meghan McCain Goes Viral - Watch Here!

Whoopi Goldberg‘s reaction on The View went viral and to be honest, it’s pretty funny!

During the segment on The View, the co-hosts were speaking about Meghan Markle‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan spoke directly to the camera, saying, “If we have two American women — Meghan Markle and Oprah Winfrey — who are single-handedly finishing what George Washington and our Revolutionary counterparts did, I’m all for it.” Meghan than appeared to end her thought and the camera panned back to Whoopi.

Whoopi paused and then finally said, “…Okay.”

Meghan McCain Is Getting Dragged By Twitter Over Her Comments About Dr. Anthony Fauci

Twitter is not a fan of Meghan McCain following her comments about Dr. Anthony Fauci that she made on The View on Monday (February 22).

During the episode, a clip of Dr. Fauci talking about vaccinations aired and in response, Meghan, 36, complained that she doesn’t know when she’ll get the vaccination, if at all.

“So I was very frustrated when I saw this clip,” she shared, before cutting to say that she does have “respect” for the pandemic that has now taken more than half a million American lives and doesn’t mean to “downplay” the tragedy.

“That being said, next week it will be a year since we left the studio and I have been very responsible in many different ways as so many Americans have been,” Meghan added. “And the fact that Dr. Fauci is going on CNN and he can’t tell me that if I get the vaccine, if I’ll be able to have dinner with my family.”

“It’s terribly inconsistent messaging and it continues to be inconsistent messaging…The fact that I, Meghan McCain, co-host of The View, don’t know when or how I will be able to get a vaccine because the rollout for my age range and my health is so nebulous, I have no idea when and how I get it.”

Meghan went on, “I want to get it. If you call me at three o’clock in the morning, I will go any place at any time to get it. I want to be responsible and obviously wait my turn, but this rollout has been a disaster. And I understand President Trump can take much of the blame, but now we’re in the Biden administration and I, for one, would like something to look forward to and to hope for because if getting the vaccine means that just nothing changes and we have to wait another few years until everyone gets it, there’s already a lot of people not getting it.

“So I’m over Dr. Fauci,” she then said. “I think we need to have more people giving more opinions and honestly quite frankly, I think the Biden administration should remove him and put someone in place that does understand science or can talk like these other countries about how we can be more like these other places that are doing this successfully.”

Hours after, Meghan stood by her comments.

Twitter is still calling her out for her privilege and insensitivity about the situation.

CNN's Van Jones Called Out By 'The View' Hosts' for Political Flip-Flopping

CNN commentator Van Jones was called out by the hosts of The View while making an appearance on the show on Friday morning (February 5) to talk about his new documentary.

Jones co-produced a documentary about American “unity” with The View co-host Meghan McCain, but his record was called out by some of her co-workers.

Sunny Hostin said, “Now Van, you do spend a lot of time threading the middle and trying to unite people. But there are those who accuse you of being a political opportunist—a chameleon, so to speak—who provided racial cover for former, disgraced, twice impeached President Trump.”

Sunny brought up how Van said Trump doesn’t get “enough credit” for his work helping the Black community. She continued, “Yet just recently you cried on CNN when Joe Biden was elected the 46th president, and you said it’s easier to be a parent now, character matters now, truth matters. You even mentioned George Floyd and said a lot of people felt they couldn’t breathe. People in the Black community don’t trust you anymore. What is your response?”

Meghan McCain Angrily Calls for the Removal of Donald Trump From Office on 'The View'

Meghan McCain is calling for the swift removal of Donald Trump from the presidency following his supporters’ storming of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday (January 6).

“[Trump] is clearly a president who has turned into a mad king, and at this point, I’m calling on all Republicans and conservatives who still have clout—we have to invoke the 25th Amendment. We cannot withstand this. Our country cannot go on like this,” she said.

“These bastards are using the American flag as symbols as they are attacking our own Republic,” she angrily continued.

“You are not Patriots. You do not represent America. You are scum of the Earth who are using and abusing and bastardizing all that I love and have grown up with for your own sick agenda.”

She and co-host Joy Behar also got into a heated argument upon her return to the show following her maternity leave.
