Beyonce's 'Lemonade' Is a 'Storyline' Crafted with Jay Z, Source Says

While many fans immediately came to the conclusion that Beyonce‘s new album Lemonade is about Jay Z cheating on her, sources say it’s actually just a storyline and not really about their marriage.

“They develop these storylines to sell albums. Lemonade is a movie crafted to drive sales,” a source told Page Six. “Jay and Beyonce are entertainers at the top of their game. Do you think Jay would release her album on [his own] Tidal if it really was all about him? He is 100 percent behind this.”

“They’re marketing masters,” the source continued. “They’re pros at this. The more attention, the more they sell, the better. All that speculation is to get press when they need it. Lemonade is much deeper than infidelity, but that’s the focus. As long as people are talking, they don’t care.”

Rumors have spread that Rachel Roy and Rita Ora are the “Becky with the good hair” woman mentioned in Bey‘s song “Sorry,” but they both denied the reports.

The source said that “Becky” is not actually one person, but a composite of the women that Jay had been rumored to have relationships with in the past.

“I don’t think Beyonce is calling out one girl. It is many girls. The rumors have been around for years,” the source said.
