Justin Timberlake Regrets Wearing Denim-on-Denim with Britney Spears

Justin Timberlake is opening up about the iconic matching denim outfit that he wore with then-girlfriend Britney Spears at the 2001 American Music Awards.

The 35-year-old entertainer appeared on the Australian talk show The Project (via Us Weekly) and was asked to name something he’s learned about the industry that he didn’t know when he was in ‘NSync, but he knows it now.

“If you wear denim-on-denim, it will get documented. You know what, I don’t think I could even bring that back,” Justin said. “I’m going to go out on a limb and say if it’s worn properly, denim-on-denim could be [brought back].”

“Did you see the outfits we wore?” Justin added “It was such a crazy time and the world was different, the music industry was different. It was just a different time.”

When asked who he thinks could pull off the look today, Justin said, “Not Donald Trump!”
