John Mayer Wins The Billboard Battle

John Mayer is spotted at MTV Studios in New York City for an appearance on It’s On With Alexa Chung on Wednesday (November 18).

The 32-year-old musician is on track to debut at No. 1 with “Battle Studies,” which could sell somewhere between 275,000 and 300,000 copies by Sunday (Nov. 22), according to Billboard. Coming in second will likely be Casting Crowns‘ “Until the Whole World Hears,” with possibly as many as 175,000 copies sold.

American Idol‘s Kris Allen will debut with probably the worst opening sales week of any winner in the show’s eight season history selling just 85-90,000 copies.
