The race has been completed at the 2015 Kentucky Derby, held on Saturday afternoon (May 2) at Churchill Downs in Louisville, KY.
This year’s event set an attendance record with 170,517 people on hand to watch the race, which was finished in just over a minute.
According to SB Nation, the NBC broadcast revealed that over $50 million was bet on this year’s race.

American Pharoah Wins!
American Pharoah was followed closely by Firing Line, who finished in second and Dortmund, who finished in third.
The jockey of American Pharoah, named Victor Espinoza, also took home the win for the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic, a race in the Kentucky Derby undercard.
