The Color Purple's Cynthia Erivo Gets Standing O for 'I'm Here' Performance at Tony Awards 2016! (Video)
Cynthia Erivo and Danielle Brooks look lovely while walking the red carpet at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.
The two ladies are Tony-nominated for their work in The Color Purple and they were joined by co-star Heather Headley for a performance during the show.
Oprah Winfrey, the producer of the musical revival, introduced the performance.
Cynthia, who is the frontrunner to win Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Celie, sounded amazing while singing the show’s eleven o’clock number “I’m Here.” She got the first standing ovation of the night!
