The brand new trailer for Sweet Magnolias season 3 is here!

JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley are back together for another 10 episodes of the popular series.

Here’s the summary: Following the brawl at Sullivan’s, Maddie wrestles with the best way to help Cal and works to clear her own emotional path; Helen faces difficult decisions about the men in her life, and Dana Sue searches for a way to use Miss Frances’ check to help the community, without upending her family.

The identity of the tire slasher sends shockwaves through Serenity, the recall causes unexpected consequences, and there are romantic surprises in every generation.

Throughout the season, the ladies tackle these problems — and all the complications they cause — with their trademark warmth, humor, and devotion to each other and those they love. And margaritas.

Sweet Magnolias season three will be out on July 20.

Jennifer Hudson becomes the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, in the brand new trailer for Respect.

Here’s a synopsis of the highly anticipated movie: “Following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, Respect is the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.”

Jennifer is joined in the movie by Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Marc Maron, Tituss Burgess, Kimberly Scott, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Heather Headley, Skye Dakota Turner, Tate Donovan and Mary J. Blige.

Respect, directed by Liesl Tommy, had been delayed in its debut due to the pandemic.

It will now premiere in theaters on August 11.

If you didn’t know, one of Jennifer‘s former co-stars also played Aretha in a limited series.

Sweet Magnolias has been renewed for a second season at Netflix!

THR revealed that Netflix made the decision to go ahead with a second season after the first season debuted a few months ago.

The show follows the three stars Maddie (JoAnna Garcia Swisher), Dana Sue (Brooke Elliott) and Helen (Heather Headley) as they navigate life in Serenity, South Carolina. Chris Klein, Jamie Lynn Spears, Logan Allen, Anneliese Judge, and more also star.

No word yet on anything to do with season two like a premiere date or when filming will begin. Stay tuned as we find out more.

The cast of Broadway’s hit musical The Color Purple said goodbye to Heather Headley with an emotional send-off led by stars Cynthia Erivo and Danielle Brooks on Sunday (October 2) in New York City.

Cynthia and Danielle sang an amazing rendition of the gospel song “I Won’t Complain” while the rest of the cast joined in at the end.

Heather was overcome with emotion and threw off her shoes and ripped off her jacket in response to the stunning vocals.

At the end of the performance, Heather was presented with a purple box and all of the actors put tiny portraits of them drawn by artist Annie Govekar inside the box. Watch the whole video below!

Cynthia Erivo and Danielle Brooks look lovely while walking the red carpet at the 2016 Tony Awards held at the Beacon Theatre on Sunday (June 12) in New York City.

The two ladies are Tony-nominated for their work in The Color Purple and they were joined by co-star Heather Headley for a performance during the show.

Oprah Winfrey, the producer of the musical revival, introduced the performance.

Cynthia, who is the frontrunner to win Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical for her work as Celie, sounded amazing while singing the show’s eleven o’clock number “I’m Here.” She got the first standing ovation of the night!
