Brad Pitt Mentions His 6 Kids During Oscars 2020 Acceptance Speech, Gets Political Right Up Top (Video)
Brad Pitt was the first winner of the night at the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday (February 9) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
He won for Best Supporting Actor for his work in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and his acceptance speech didn’t disappoint.
First, he got political.
“They told me I only have 45 seconds up here—which is 45 seconds more than the Senate gave John Bolton this week,” Brad said upon accepting the award. If you don’t know, John Bolton was the U.S. National Security Advisor under the Trump administration from April 2018 to September 2019. Bolton never ended up testifying in Trump’s impeachment trial after not enough Republican senators voted to hear from him.
Later in the speech, Brad made a rare mention of his six kids with ex wife Angelina Jolie: Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, Zahara, 15, Shiloh, 13, and Knox and Vivienne, 11.
“I’m not one to look back, but this has made me do so.. all the wonderful people I’ve met along the way, to stand here now…Once Upon A Time In Hollywood… ain’t that the truth. This is for my kids who color everything I do. I adore you. Thank you,” Brad said.
