Grammys: Can Taylor Swift Win Awards for Her Re-Recorded Albums?

In the year since the 2021 Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift has released two of her re-recorded albums and fans are likely wondering if she’s eligible for awards for them.

This was also something we were wondering last year ahead of the release of Fearless (Taylor’s Version).

A Recording Academy spokesperson told Billboard the answer: yes!

But there’s a catch: “Current eligibility guidelines would allow for the new performances and albums to be eligible if they were recorded within the last five years. However, none of the older songs would be eligible for songwriting awards,” they said.

According to the Academy, the new performances would be eligible in performance categories if they were recorded within the last five years. The songs would be eligible in songwriting categories if they are new songs (previously unreleased in any form).

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version) have both featured previously unreleased songs like “Mr. Perfectly Fine” and “Message in a Bottle.”

While Fearless (Taylor’s Version) was eligible for the 2022 awards, Red (Taylor’s Version) will be eligible for the 2023 awards.
