Regé-Jean Page Reveals How He Really Feels About 'Bridgerton' Possibly Recasting His Role

Regé-Jean Page is reflecting on his time on Bridgerton.

The 34-year-old actor, who played Duke Simon Basset on the first season of the hit Netflix show, already spoke about his decision not to return to the series.

Now, in a recent interview, Regé-Jean Page is weighing the idea of having another actor stepping in to play his character.

While speaking to Variety, Regé-Jean said: “They’re free to do as they like,” regarding a potential recast.

“Shonda [Rhimes] and I had a wonderful conversation at the end of season one. We were quite happy with how we stuck the landing on that one.”

“We did so well on that redemptive arc that people forget that Simon was kind of horrific,” he said, reflecting on his time on the show.

“And so, because we came around full circle so well, because we stuck that landing, you’re left with this great feeling. You really do have to be brave about ending stories like that.”
