Jennifer Nettles Joins the Cast of 'The Exorcist' Remake in Mysterious Role

Jennifer Nettles is heading to the big screen in The Exorist.

The 48-year-old singer and actress will star opposite Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett and Ellen Burstyn in the upcoming remake of the classic horror film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer will play a “key role” in the movie, but details are being kept under wraps.

The movie centered on young Regan, who starts acting odd, which was concerning enough to her mom, that she seeks medical help, only to hit a dead end. A local priest, however, thinks the girl may be seized by the devil.

The upcoming remake, which is the first of a planned trilogy, will be out in theaters on October 13.

Fans will instantly recognize Jennifer as half of the country duo Sugarland, as well as her successful solo career.

In acting, Jennifer has starred in Broadway’s Waitress and Chicago, and has previously appeared in HBO’s The Righteous Gemstones.
