Eva Mendes Explains Why She Won't Join Ryan Gosling at 'Barbie' Premieres

By the sounds of it, fans shouldn’t expect to see Eva Mendes on the red carpet at the premiere for Barbie even though it stars her long-term love Ryan Gosling.

The 49-year-old Hitch star shares two children with the 42-year-old actor. They’ve been romantically linked since 2011.

However, the couple hasn’t walked the red carpet together in years. Earlier this year, she revealed why and expressed hopes to share the screen again in a movie after co-starring in The Place Beyond the Pines.

Taking to Instagram, Eva responded to a fan who wrote that they wanted Barbie to “get through the Awards Season” so that she and Ryan could be a fixture on the red carpet.

“You’re the best,” she wrote in response. “What a cool comment, thank you. But we don’t do those things together. Like these photos I’ve been posting, Im only comfortable posting because it’s already out there.”

She continued, pointing out that they were “only on the red carpet together” to promote The Place Beyond the Pines.

“By ‘not comfortable’ , I mean exposing our very private life that we value,” she explained, adding, “I’m still dying to do another movie with him though…♥️”

Eva fueled marriage rumors last year by referring to Ryan as her “husband.”

They won’t be on the carpet together, but Barbie, which also stars Margot Robbie, hits theaters on July 21. Make sure to check out the trailer!
