Jaime King & Kyle Newman Settle Divorce Three Years After Split, Release Joint Statement to Confirm News

Jaime King and ex-husband Kyle Newman are ready to move on after a long divorce process.

The 44-year-old Hart of Dixie actress and the 47-year-old 1Up director split back in May 2020 after 13 years of marriage.

The former couple went through a long-disputed divorce process, but have come out of it as friends and are focused on co-parenting their two children together – James Knight, 9, and Leo Thames, 8.

Jaime and Kyle took to Instagram to release a joint statement after news broke of their settlement.

“We have come to a peaceful, loving and harmonious completion of our marriage. As parents loving must prevail. The health and well-being of our children has always been our utmost priority. We look forward to co-parenting with grace and understanding. We respectfully ask for privacy for our children and our families at this time. Sincerely- Jaime and Kyle,” they said in the joint statement.

Kyle‘s lawyer told People, “Kyle and Jaime finally resolved all issues in their divorce yesterday, allowing them to concentrate on being the best parents and co-parents to their two boys. I know that the right thing happened for the children when I see both parents walk out of the courthouse together as friends, sharing a embrace before they part ways.”

The lawyer also told Page Six, “Jaime and Kyle sat down in a room and hammered out the details of their settlement, putting their two children first. It was truly touching to see them get along again after years of acrimony — Jaime even joined Kyle to get coffee across the street from the courthouse as I was writing up the settlement agreement. I am hopeful that this will be a clean beginning for them. They both understand they will be in each other’s lives forever, and that their children deserve nothing but the best from both of them.”

Kyle and his new partner Cyn are now parents of two-year-old son Etienne and newborn daughter Beatrix.
