Homeland is officially ending after its eighth season.

Showtime executives confirmed that the upcoming season will be its last, but it is not a cancellation.

“Alex Gansa will be bringing his show to its proper conclusion. I can’t say how much it has meant to the acceleration of our brand and for me personally: It was the first series I greenlit,” Showtime president David Nevins said during the 2018 Summer TCA Press Tour.

He added, “Alex and Claire [Danes] talked about this last season. Alex brought it in and Claire has been the mainstay. But the two of them finally made the decision.”

Earlier this year, Claire also confirmed the show’s ending.

On working with everyone’s crush Leonardo DiCaprio during Romeo & Juliet: “Yes. That was problematic. I couldn’t really have a crush on the guy I was professionally having a crush on! Quite a few gay men have talked to me about the fact that when they were kids watching Romeo + Juliet, they were confused about who they wanted to kiss. It was all about Leo! And I completely understand.”

On if she had TV crushes growing up: “Yes. I had a crush on the kid from the show Mr. Belvedere. And Ricky Schroder. And the Coreys: Corey Haim and Corey Feldman. There was a hotline, something like 1-900-Corey. I was in a crummy mood one day after school and I kept calling it. A month later, my dad got the bill. He was like, “Claire, did you call this weird hotline number?”

“Occasionally I’ll stand up and get profoundly winded and this was one of those occasions,” the 39-year-old pregnant Homeland star told Seth. “I was like, ‘Oh my god, I don’t have access to oxygen like at all and I’m supposed to be reading in front of millions of people.”

“Eventually I caught my breathe but I didn’t want to detract from like the nominees. It wasn’t about me being pregnant in that second but it happened,” Claire continued.

Claire Danes kept her baby bump covered up while hitting the red carpet with husband Hugh Dancy!

The cute couple, who are expecting their first child, stepped out for The Public Theater’s Annual Gala on Monday night (June 11) at the Delacorte Theatre in New York City.

Claire and Hugh were joined at the event by Glenn Close, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ethan Hawke and his wife Ryan.

During the event, guests were treated to a special performance of Runaways, celebrating the musical’s 40th anniversary.

Claire Danes showed off her growing baby bump while supporting Homeland!

The 39-year-old pregnant actress stepped out for a Emmys FYC event on Tuesday night (June 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

She was also joined by her co-star Mandy Patinkin as well as director Lesli Linka Glatter.

Claire and her husband Hugh Dancy are currently expecting their second child together. They are the parents of a five-year-old boy named Cyrus.

Earlier in the week, the couple stepped out together for the CFDA Fashion Awards, where Claire was presenting an award.
