OlderAnnaSophia Robb Playing Young Carrie Bradshaw
AnnaSophia Robb has scored the coveted lead role in CW’s pilot The Carrie Diaries, a prequel to HBO’s smash hit Sex and the City.
The 18-year-old actress will take on the role of a young Carrie Bradshaw, which Sarah Jessica Parker made famous.
The show centers around Carrie “who comes of age in the 1980s and is asking her first questions about love, sex, friendship and family while exploring the worlds of high school and Manhattan,” Variety reports.
AnnaSophia most recently appeared in Soul Surfer. She’s also starred in Race to Witch Mountain and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

is this show necessary? i mean, nice to strike while the iron is hot. i think most people have moved on from carrie bradshaw.

That’s what I was thinking too. They could at least pic someone who actually looks a bit more similar to SJP.
She has a little bit of Lauren Conrad in her face. A little too California-y to make a good Carrie Bradshaw. But, I’m being totally superficial and judging her solely on her looks. She may turn out to be fantastic and I’ll be just as in love with the show as I was with SIC.

I like Anna Sophia but couldn’t they cast someone who actually resembles Sarah Jessica Parker??
I think she is too pretty and doesn’t have that long witchy face that SJP has. Not the right girl for the role! I do think it will be hard finding anyone who looks like SJP but that could be a good thing.

This whole spin-off is a horrible idea. Just leave the legacy of SATC as it is….haven’t they realised they made the mistake with the film adaptations already!?

First of all Sarah Jessica Parker is the only one who can be Carrie.
I just think people moved on.. You don’t have to do sequels and prequels for everything! Let it be, don’t ruin it. Even the movies were too much for me..

I can’t believe it they are gonna screw the real show and characters! i’m pretty sure is gonna sucks! but i’ll see it anyway , NO ONE LIKE SJP and the rest of the girls! Seriously CW doesn’t have more ideas for new show that they have to make remake or copy another show , THAT CHANNEL SUCKS!

NO! They shouldn’t do this! Stop WRECKING SatC! The show was one of the greatest ever, the movies kinda ruined it already! STOP!
Besides, no one can play Carrie Bradshaw other than SJP, it just can’t be done! I love everything about her personality, the way she moves and talks and the little habits she has like the way she picks things up when she drops stuff, or applies her lip gloss. It’s just so her and no one can copy that or try to be that. CAN’T BE DONE!
