'Frozen' Tops Weekend Box Office, Surpasses $600 Million Worldwide
Disney’s Frozen has topped this weekend’s box office with $20.7 million!
According to THR, the film not only passed the $600 million mark worldwide, but it made its way to the No. 1 spot a month after opening, which virtually never happens.
Coming in second place was the weekend’s only new release, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, a spin-off of the very popular series, which brought in a solid $18.2 million.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug snagged the No. 3 spot, making an additional $16.3 million, for a domestic total of $229.6 million.
Rounding out the top five were Leonardo DiCaprio‘s The Wolf of Wall Street and the star-studded American Hustle, bringing in $13.4 million and $13.2 million, respectively.
Meanwhile, Will Ferrell‘s follow-up Anchorman: The Legend Continues crossed the $100 million domestically, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire hit $407.5 million domestically, making it the top 2013 release in the U.S.
