The 18-year-old singer and her beau were on their way to the 2014 New Zealand Music Awards at Vector Arena on Thursday (November 20) in Auckland, New Zealand.

“It’s crazy to think that it’s [been] a year since I was right there [in the audience], stressed out,” Lorde shared at the ceremony after winning six awards. “You have moved mountains for me, you have changed my life.”

She added, “In my house, the Tuis go in the kitchen, which may not sound that impressive. But in my house, the kitchen is the really important place to be!”
