Amy Schumer Hints 'Inside Amy Schumer' Cancelled Amid Kurt Metzger Controversy
Amy Schumer took to Twitter on Wednesday evening (August 17) and hinted that Inside Amy Schumer may not be returning for a new season at Comedy Central.
The 35-year-old comedian took to Twitter earlier in the day to comment on comedian friend/former Inside Amy Schumer writer Kurt Metzger‘s insensitive views on rape victims and how they should deal with their rape. Kurt has had writing credits on her show up until 2016, and after apologizing, fans wanted to know if he was still employed by her and her show.
“I didn’t fire Kurt. He isn’t a writer for my show because we aren’t making the show anymore. There are no writers for it,” Amy tweeted.
Comedy Central has yet to issue an official statement.
