Rita Moreno Explains Important Detail About Steven Spielberg's 'West Side Story' Remake!
Rita Moreno is super “excited” about the upcoming West Side Story movie from director Steven Spielberg!
The acclaimed actress, who won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for playing Anita in the 1961 version of West Side Story, will return for the remake as an executive producer and different role: Valentina, a re-conceived and expanded version of the character of Doc, the owner of the corner store in which Tony works.
While making an appearance on Busy Philipps‘ Busy Tonight on Thursday (March 7) alongside her One Day at a Time co-star Justina Machado and writer Gloria Calderon Kellett, Rita said she is “beside myself” about appearing in the movie musical. “I’m so excited!”
