Celebs Applaud New Zealand for Changing Gun Laws Quickly After Devastating Shooting
Celebrities are speaking out to applaud New Zealand for moving so quickly to change gun laws following the Christchurch mass shooting in which 49 people were killed.
David Parker, the attorney general of New Zealand, says that the government will ban semi-automatic weapons. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern also says she is planning to reform gun laws.
“I can tell you one thing right now. Our gun laws will change,” she said (via CNN).
Kim Kardashian is among the celebs who have spoken out to praise the country for taking action immediately. She wrote, “Just 24 hours after the Christchurch shooting New Zealand bans semiautomatic guns! America take note! Why can’t our elected officials put public safety over gun manufacturers’ profits?!?!”
