Mindy Kaling On Being Happy That Her Pregnancy Happened When It Did

Here’s what the 39-year-old Late Night star had to share with the mag…

On being a single mom: “Right now I still find the work energy-giving, not energy-depleting. I know at some point I will have to do less, because it’s not like there’s a dad at home picking up some of the slack. I know that when she gets a little bit older, I want to be able to take off more time to spend with her.”

On aging in Hollywood: “Because I never had a career based on my physical beauty, I’m approaching aging without much dread. I was never the person who was, like, Mindy ‘The Body’ Kaling.”

On her pregnancy happening when it did: “I always knew I wanted to be a mom, but I would have put it off and put it off. I’m happy that it happened when it did. I would have put it off indefinitely.”
