Elisabeth Moss Says She 'Learned A Lot' from 'Her Smell' Role!
Elisabeth Moss strikes a pose in a sparkling dress while attending the special screening of her film Her Smell held at The Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday evening (November 20) in New York City.
The 36-year-old The Handmaid’s Tale star took part in a panel alongside the film’s writer-director Alex Ross Perry following the screening.
Elisabeth stars as Becky Something in Her Smell, a ’90s rock superstar who once filled arenas with her band Something She. When her excesses derail a national tour, she’s forced to reckon with her past while recapturing the inspiration that led her band to success.
“I’d never played an addict before. I never had the experience of it. I spoke to people in recovery who were very generous with their stories,” Elisabeth recently expressed about the role. “I learned a lot. I did feel like I wanted to be as honest as possible and truthful and not sugar-coat things. I didn’t want to be cliched about anything. I wanted to honor what that experience is and how fragile it is to be in recovery. That was very important to me, to not f*** that up.”
