Is There a New 'Dirty Dancing' Movie in the Works?

Jennifer Grey has been tapped to star in a brand new movie for Lionsgate, which is rumored to be the next Dirty Dancing.

Deadline reports that the movie could be joining the franchise, although details about the project are being kept under wraps.

All we know is that it will be set in the 1990s.

The upcoming dance film is being developed by Jonathan Levine and Gillian Bohrer, with a screenplay by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis.

As we all know, Jennifer starred as Frances “Baby” Houseman in the original film, who falls for her Catskills resort dance instructor, Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze).

The movie made $218 million at the global box office when it was released in 1987 and has since become a classic. The second movie, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, was released in 2004 and featured a small cameo from Patrick.

It was recently reported that the lake where Johnny takes Baby to learn that iconic dance lift is reappearing after mysteriously draining years ago.
