Elon Musk Makes His First Change to Twitter Within Hours of Acquisition

Elon requested that when users who are logged out of the service visit Twitter.com, they are now redirected to the website’s “Explore” page that showcases trending tweets and news stories, via The Verge.

Previously, visiting Twitter’s homepage while logged out showed a sign-up form for users to be able to see tweets.

The change “required VP involvement to override a code freeze put in place to prevent rogue staffers from making changes during the takeover process,” according to the report.

He did not explain why he made the change according to employees who observed it, but it’s noted that before Elon‘s takeover, that “decision would have been fought over between teams for weeks.”

“That’s definitely one way to make it clear you’re in charge now,” a former exec told the news outlet.
