Anna Kendrick Reflects on Being Part of 'Twilight' & the Public's Reaction to the Franchise's Stars

Anna Kendrick opened up about her participation in the Twilight series.

If you forgot, the 37-year-old Pitch Perfect actress played Bella Swan’s (Kristen Stewart) friend Jessica Stanley in the first four movies.

She was asked about the role and the series during a recent interview and spilled on what it was like being associated with the franchise at the peak of its popularity.

Anna Kendrick also commented on the Twilight series experiencing an apparent renaissance years after the final movie premiered…

Anna told Rolling Stone that her participation in Twilight “very much so” feels like a “fever dream” years later.

“At that time, I was this satellite figure in those movies. I could still walk down the street totally fine — though some of them did still recognize me from them. I wasn’t playing a character that made people fantasize about vampires,” she explained about the fervor that the series inspired.

Of course, the biggest stars from the franchise didn’t have the easiest time, which Anna also addressed.

“At the time it felt like, ‘Oh, these people have become the most famous people on planet Earth, and it’s going to stay this way forever.’ Then they became the butt of every joke. It’s very funny to me that that’s happening. That’s very wild,” she explained.

The actress also asked if Twilight has become “camp” now as a way to explain it’s new wave of popularity.
