Star Trek: Strange New Worlds has released a sneak peek into the highly anticipated second season.

Strange New World’s cast, including Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley and Ethan Peck as Spock, all return to the Star Trek series that has brought back episodic storytelling.

Strange New Worlds is the perfect starting point for the Star Trek uninitiated,” Rebecca said. “You don’t need to know much about the background.”

Keep reading to find out more…“Yeah, I would say really the driving energy of Star Trek is that instinct that we have to walk beyond the campfire light to see what’s out there in the darkness beyond,” Anson said. “And to do it for the sake of the tribe. There’s something that really human that it taps into that, that I haven’t seen anywhere else.”

In contrast to much science fiction, “The Trek world is uplifting, and operates in a space of optimism and hopefulness,” Rebecca added.

Ethan, who plays Spock, offered his take on why the series is a great entry point for those unfamiliar with Star Trek. “I think the tone of it, it takes itself very seriously while leaving plenty of room for humor, and jokes, and levity, because I mean you can’t be too serious all the time,” he said.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premieres Thursday, June 15 on Paramount+.

The official trailer for season 2 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds revealed that Paul Wesley as James T. Kirk would be making a return.
