That's So Raven's Anneliese van der Pol Describes Awkward Experience Being Ashley Tisdale's Waitress

That’s So Raven star Anneliese van der Pol recalled a Disney Channel reunion with High School Musical‘s Ashley Tisdale that sounds pretty awkward.

If you forgot, the 38-year-old actress played Raven-Symone‘s best friend Chelsea Daniels on the hit Disney show. She returned for the spinoff show Raven’s Home.

However, in down time, Anneliese worked at several restaurants. While waiting tables at one, she ran into Ashley. The actress detailed the moment.

On a new episode of her Big Name B-tches podcast with co-host Christy Carlson Romano, Anneliese said that it was an “uncomfortable” interaction.

“I want to say she was lovely, but,” she said, leaving Christy shocked by the situation. “She didn’t do anything but she was uncomfortable for me. She was so uncomfortable.”

Anneliese stressed that she was anything but unhappy at the time, saying that she was “really proud.”

“You have to do a lot of multitasking, but the disappointment [and] the look, the drop of faces when [people] recognized me was truly gut-wrenching,” she admitted. “It was almost like I had to say, ‘I’m OK. I’m actually really happy that I don’t have to audition and am doing something I know I’m good at.’ I know when I clean a table or bring a meal that I can do that and there won’t be any mistakes. I won’t be judged. Essentially, I kind of was judged.”

At the time of publishing, Ashley does not appear to have shared her side of the story.
