Carrie initially paired the accessory with her Vivienne Westwood gown for her ill-fated wedding ceremony to Mr. Big. It then appeared in And Just Like That when Carrie rewore that same look to attend the Met Gala.

Sotheby’s has listed the headpiece as “Vintage Taxidermied Bird of Paradise Headpiece.” In the description, they wrote that Sarah Jessica was “captivated” by the accessory and found herself “enthralled by the vibrant colors and brazen fashion statement.”

“From the moment the world caught a glimpse of Carrie’s ensemble, the iconic headpiece became one of — if not the most — memorable pieces that the beloved character ever [wore] as it perfectly embodies the bold and empowered style of her character,” the auction house added.

The headpiece is estimated to sell for between $40,000 and $70,000, with the auction scheduled for Aug. 31.

Also for sale are two famous pieces that were worn by Princess Diana. The first is her black sheep sweater from 1981 and the second is a Murray Arbeid evening gown that she wore when she attended Prince Edward’s 21st birthday party in 1985. The latter is expected to sell for $80,000 to $120,000.
