Sean‘s son released a statement on Saturday (October 31) to announce the death of his father and talk about his final days.

Hollywood Stars React to Death of 007 Actor Sean Connery

Stars in Hollywood are reacting to the sad news that Sean Connery, the legendary actor best known for his work as James Bond, has passed away at the age of 90.

Connery‘s son released a statement to announce his father’s passing and he revealed that he wasn’t doing well for some time.

The family of former Bond actor Roger Moore spoke out with a statement, as did Terminator actor and former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, among many others.

Daniel Craig, who is the current James Bond actor, released a statement to pay tribute to the late actor as well.

Daniel Craig Honors Iconic Bond Actor Sean Connery After His Death

Daniel Craig, the current actor playing James Bond, is paying tribute to the late actor Sean Connery, who just passed away at the age of 90.

Connery is widely considered to be the best James Bond actor of all time and he starred in six 007 movies, beginning with Dr. No in 1962.

“It is with such sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema,” Daniel said in a statement (via Variety). “Sir Sean Connery will be remembered as Bond and so much more. He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster. He will continue to influence actors and film-makers alike for years to come. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Wherever he is, I hope there is a golf course.”

Daniel‘s final appearance in the Bond series will be in the upcoming movie No Time to Die, which was supposed to be released in April 2020. The film has been delayed to April 2021 due to the pandemic.

Sean Connery Dead - Iconic James Bond Actor Dies at 90

Sean Connery has sadly passed away at the age of 90.

The legendary actor’s son Jason told the BBC that he had been “unwell for some time” and he died peacefully in his sleep while in the Bahamas.

Sean “had many of his family who could be in the Bahamas around him” when he passed away overnight on Saturday (October 31), his son said.

“We are all working at understanding this huge event as it only happened so recently, even though my dad has been unwell for some time,” Jason said. “A sad day for all who knew and loved my dad and a sad loss for all people around the world who enjoyed the wonderful gift he had as an actor.”

Sean made his debut as James Bond in the 1962 film Dr. No and he appeared in six Bond movies overall. He is often regarded as the most beloved star of the franchise.

Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a statement that he “was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words, ‘The name’s Bond… James Bond.’ He revolutionized the world with his gritty and witty portrayal of the sexy and charismatic secret agent. He is undoubtedly largely responsible for the success of the film series and we shall be forever grateful to him.”

Sean won an Oscar in 1988 for his work in The Untouchables and he also starred in movies like The Hunt for Red October, The Rock, Highlander, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. His final film was 2003′s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

We send our thoughts and condolences to Sean Connery‘s loved ones during this difficult time. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Micheline, and his son Jason.

Sean Connery Reveals He Rode Out Hurricane Dorian in His Bahamas Home

Sean Connery is luckily safe after Hurricane Dorian.

The 89-year-old James Bond actor revealed he’s “lucky” to survive after riding out the storm in his mansion with his wife Micheline on the island of New Providence in the Bahamas.

“We are both fine. We were lucky compared to many others and the damage here was not great. We had been prepared for the storm, everything was ready in advance – we weren’t taking any chances and knew what to do,” Sean revealed to the Daily Mail.
